Leo looked at the digital clock in the corner of his taskbar. It read 03:02:10. Five. Four. Three. Two. One.
Cold sweat broke out across his neck. He looked around his small, shadowed apartment. Was there a camera? Had he been hacked? He pulled his phone out of his pocket to check his smartwatch app. His heart rate was exactly 88 beats per minute.
He had been cleaning up his computer's directory, deleting old game caches and temp files, when he found it sitting directly in the root folder of his C drive. He had not created it.
