Enraged by a Broadway production titled Swinging the Muses that portrays the Greek goddesses as "man-crazy" jazz dancers, descends to Earth to intervene. Adopting the mortal name "Kitty Pendleton," she secures the lead role in the musical produced by Danny Miller (Larry Parks).

She successfully lobbies to transform the show into a "serious" and high-art ballet, but the resulting production is a commercial flop.
