The first half of the episode takes us deep into the past, finally giving us the full picture of radicalization. We see a younger Kamui trying to hold his family together while his mother, Kouka , slowly withers away due to her Altana-bound life on Rakuyo.

His descent into "villainy" is reframed as a desperate, misguided attempt to become strong enough to protect his family—only to end up destroying it in the process.

This episode is heavy. By removing the comedic "safety net," the show forces you to process the raw trauma of the Yato family. The animation in the battle sequences remains top-tier, capturing the weight of every blow.

The episode ends with a glimmer of hope as finally arrives, ready to knock some sense into Kamui and remind everyone what a real family looks like.
