Kensington Lock Reset Button Official

To successfully reset your combination, follow these general steps:

If dials feel stuck or the reset button won't depress, clean the mechanism with compressed air to remove dirt or debris.

On some models like the ComboSaver, the reset mechanism may be a small button or lever located on the side or bottom of the lock.

Release the button or turn the reset screw back to its original position. The mechanism should "pop" back out, indicating the new code is locked in. Important Troubleshooting Tips

While the button is held or the screw is turned, rotate the dials to your new desired four-digit combination.

If you lose the combination, the reset button will not work because the lock must be "open" (set to the current code) to initiate a reset. Some users recover lost codes by applying moderate pressure to the main button while slowly turning each wheel until they feel a "click" or "give".

You must first align the dials to the current authorized combination (the factory default is usually 0000 ). Engage the Reset Mechanism: For Buttons: Press and hold the reset button firmly.

Before attaching the lock to a device, press the main lock button at the rear. If it presses in fully, the combination was successfully set.
