This episode further establishes the show's dark, "Gothic mystery" tone. It is notable for its blend of high-school competition tropes with supernatural horror, a hallmark of the series' first season.

Wednesday convinces Sheriff Galpin that a monster is responsible for the recent local murders. However, her credibility is shot when Rowan returns to campus without a scratch.
