As the audio reached its peak, my own room began to smell faintly of soot. I looked at the Classroom.exe window I had left open. Mister Burnhouse was no longer standing in the center. He was closer to the screen now, his charred face filling the frame. A new line appeared in the text box:
The logs continued for dozens of names, always ending with the same phrase: "Lesson complete. Ash remains."
