The story follows , an aspiring fashion designer working as an assistant for a demanding magazine editor. Her life changes when she is hired to design a gown for Lady Isabelle , who is visiting New York with her fiancé, Prince Jeffrey . While working on the dress for the upcoming Royal New Year's Eve ball, Caitlyn unknowingly meets the Prince—mistaking him for a regular person named "Jeff"—and the two begin to develop feelings for each other. As the ball approaches, they must decide whether to follow royal tradition or pursue their own happiness.
