It was a typical afternoon at the Central Perk, and the air was thick with the scent of roasted coffee beans and the sound of Phoebe's latest song, "The Man with the Big Forehead." But for Monica Geller, the atmosphere was anything but relaxed. She was currently staring at a mountain of aluminum-topped trays—twelve of them, to be exact.

Meanwhile, Rachel was dealing with her own brand of drama. She had finally decided to tell Paolo, her Italian boyfriend, that their relationship was over. The problem was, Paolo's English was limited, and Rachel's Italian was non-existent. The breakup involved a lot of dramatic gestures, a few misunderstood phrases, and a very confused Paolo who seemed to think they were just having a particularly passionate argument about pasta. After hours of intense negotiation (and a few rounds of Rock-Paper-Scissors), they finally settled on the perfect model. However, the arrival of the table brought a whole new set of challenges, mostly involving Joey's competitive nature and Chandler's lack of hand-eye coordination.

"I'll take one," Joey offered immediately, his hand shooting up like a schoolboy. "Actually, I'll take three. One for now, one for later, and one for... well, later later."
