Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition (specifically versions around 4.4.5–4.4.7) is a discontinued, popular room calibration and headphone EQ software package designed to create a "flat" listening environment for mixing and mastering. The software uses a measurement microphone to analyze room acoustics and applies an inverse EQ curve to counteract deficiencies in studio monitors and headphones.

The software includes profiles for hundreds of headphone models, automatically adjusting their frequency response to be flat.

Reference 4 was succeeded by SoundID Reference, with official support for Reference 4 ending around 2021. Important Information Regarding "Cracked" Software Sonarworks Reference 4 Studio Edition - Full Review 2018

It functions as a plugin within DAWs (e.g., Logic Pro X, Pro Tools, Cubase) or as a system-wide app to calibrate all computer audio.

Uses an omnidirectional condenser microphone to measure speaker response, allowing for a personalized, flat-response curve for the studio room.
