: Jack is brought in to perform surgery on Colleen Pickett , an Other who was shot by Sun. Despite his efforts, she dies on the operating table.

: Ben and the Others attempt to break Sawyer’s rebellious spirit by tricking him into believing they have surgically implanted a pacemaker in his heart that will detonate if his heart rate exceeds 140 beats per minute.

: At the end of the episode, Ben takes Sawyer to the top of a ridge to show him that they are actually on a smaller, separate island (Hydra Island), making any attempt to escape back to the survivors' beach impossible without a boat.
